Problem: First-generation students struggle to apply to college because they lack role models to guide them through the application process and find the best schools for them.

Insight: Applying to colleges is a difficult and lonely process for first-generation college students because they don’t have any support. Oftentimes, they have no idea what they’re doing.

Solution: By using AI and Cloud Technology, Google will provide a free app where students can receive help writing their essays, deciding what major to study and which school to attend, and planning out the entire application process.

First Gen is a tool used to help first generation students through every step of the college admissions process. 

The first feature uses Google’s AI Chatbot to help students decide their area of study. Have a conversation about your passions with anyone of your favorite animated characters,like Rick from Rick and Morty. 

Through your conversations, Rick will analyze your information and recommend majors, schools, and scholarships that you might be interested in.

Once the student has a list of schools, their customizable Google Calendar will be synced with key dates like SAT or ACT testing times and application deadlines.

Google Cloud Drive collects essays from past applicants to find which types of stories hit the hardest.

First Gen will check grammar to make sure your essay is completely polished.

The first generation is finally being put first.
